Fascias, Soffits, Guttering and Weatherboard in Chelmsford, Essex

In a new article on the partner pages of our website, Kitchen Class Wigan friends, Chelmsford Roofline Ltd give a quick rundown on some of their excellent products and services.

When most people think of roofline products they think of fascias, soffits and guttering … Actually that might not be true. Possibly most first thoughts are: “What is a roofline?” Even after they are told, the next thought is often along the lines of: “And what is a soffit, exactly?” This isn’t a comment about people from Chelmsford or even Essex, and certainly not about people in Wigan. Most people aren’t familiar with fascias, soffits, bargeboards, boxboards and weatherboards because they think the top of the house will simply look after itself. That sort of thinking works well until you suddenly find you need a whole new roof.

As Chelmsford Roofline will tell you, fascias, soffits and guttering are three of the fittings you find at the top of the walls of your house, just below the roof. They are there to protect your roof, your loft space and your house from water damage particularly. The fascia looks a bit like a skirting board and runs around the top of the wall. The soffit is the panel that seals the gap between the top of the fascia and the roof. Guttering and downpipes direct rain water from the roof, away from the houses, and into the drains.

There are a few more terms you may not be familiar with. Bargeboard hang from the eaves, protecting the gable end of the house and the ends of the roof rafters. Boxboards seal the join between fascias, soffits and bargeboards. And weatherboard protects exposed brickwork from the worst of the British weather.

Chelmsford Roofline are experts in the installation of new and replacement UPVC fascias, soffits, guttering, downpipes, bargeboards, boxboards, weatherboard and cladding. Chelmsford Roofline use UPVC for  fascias and soffits  because unlike traditional timber roofline fixtures, UPVC fascias and soffits will not warp, rot, crack and – ultimately – fail. And unlike wooden fascias and soffits, quality UPVC products such as Eurocell fascias and soffits are maintenance free.

And best of all for Chelmsford Roofline customers throughout Essex and the surrounding areas, once you have replacement UPVC soffits and fascias fitted, you will no longer have to worry about what they are called and what they do.
